A Little Bit Of H20 Can Go A Long Way

Before you reach for that can of soda, cup of coffee, canned energy drink, or other beverage full of artificial sweeteners and chemicals, read this blog posting!

You’ve heard it said at least a hundred times throughout the course of your life…drink water, it’s good for you. But did you know that when you suffer from Fibromyalgia, that water can be more than just good for you, it can be great for you? Fibromyalgia suffers often fail to realize that artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, and man made chemicals can increase their inflammation, which in turn increases the amount of pain they suffer from.

Maybe you are thinking you don’t need to change a thing because you drink tea…did you know that most types of regular tea still contain caffeine? Or maybe you think that you don’t need to change a thing because you drink diet sodas instead of regular ones. Did you know that diet sodas are actually worse for Fibromyalgia sufferers because they are made up of man made chemicals like aspartame? Or maybe you think you are doing okay because you are drinking juice instead of alternative drinks. Did you know that many brands of juice use artificial flavorings, colors, and sugars in order to make the taste appealing to consumers?

If you are a Fibromyalgia sufferer, then this next part may be difficult to swallow (literally), especially if you are a “caffeine addict”. I have one piece of advice for you: only drink water. I know, you are shocked right now, you can’t let go of your favorite beverages. You can’t possibly drink water all the time. I know those thoughts, I’ve had those thoughts.

If you don’t think you can give up your favorite beverage forever, I propose a challenge to you: give up every beverage except for water for one week. For one week drink only water, allow your body to detox, allow your body to flush out all of the artificial chemicals, and then see how you feel. After only one week of cutting out all of those beverages that contain artificial chemicals, you will notice a difference. The changes you will notice vary from person to person. What changes did I notice? I noticed that my skin was softer, my hair was healthier, my nails were stronger, my skin had less acne, I had more energy, I slept thru the night, my bowel movements were more regular…all because I choose to drink water.

When you decide to switch to water only, make sure that you do not purchase water that has chemical additives, artificial flavors, or artificial colors. Stay away from waters that are vitamin enhanced and mineral enhanced. Buy the purest water you can find. Spring waters are good, as long as they have not been chemically altered.

With so many brands of water on the market, how do you know which brands are safe? The answer to that question depends on who you are, and how you react to certain purifying ingredients that are added to bottled waters.

The brands that I have always had good luck with are:
Nestle Pure Life
Crystal Geyser
Sam’s Club
Wal-Mart Brand

Brands on my steer clear of list include:
Arrowhead
Evian
